Hilton Worldwide Resorts has completed

in the comfort of a stunning 6-star property.

The US$35 million reconstruction of Rangalifinolhu
Island required the demolition of all existing
villas and buildings and took 15 months
to complete. It features facilities that
are a first of their kind. The island’s
79 beach villas, most of which have private
pools and an exclusive slice of the beach,
are the largest beach villas in Maldives.
Rangalifinolhu also swanks The Spa Retreat
by Hilton – the country’s first
destination spa. Twenty-one villas have
been exclusively designed with full spa
facilities, treatment suites and a restaurant.
It is a “resort-within-a-resort” set
at the tip of the island with separate
facilities and personalised services and
also offering the total spa experience.
The other superlative facility is “Ithaa” – the
first of its kind all-glass undersea restaurant
that was launched in April 2005.
The redeveloped island is linked to the
Rangali Island, which has 50 water villas,
a spa and three restaurants connected by
a 500-metre footbridge. Together, the islands
entrench the reputation of Hilton Maldives
Resort & Spa as a premier resort in
the country.
“We can now offer visitors the widest
choice of accommodation and dining options”,
says Carsten Schieck, General Manager,
Hilton Maldives Resort & Spa. “Many
of our guests are repeat visitors. We are
now able to diversify their experience
with three distinct products across two
islands each time they come to Hilton Maldives.
Guests have an option of staying in water
villas, beach villas with a private pool
and beach, or having a rejuvenating break
at the Spa Retreat” Schieck highlighted
that response among Hilton Maldives’ clientele
for the new products has been encouraging.
The first week of operations saw 70 per
cent occupancy on both islands. The resort
has also announced exclusive deals and
special offers targeting
customers from key markets.
The Spa Retreat
Located at the tip of the island, the Spa
Retreat is a brilliant destination spa
facility. It is a secluded and peaceful
haven set on stilts over the lagoon,
offering an escape from the bustle of
city living. The self-contained resort-within-a-resort
comprises of 21 Spa Water Villas, a luxurious
spa with nine therapy suites and a gourmet
spa restaurant.
The Spa Retreat presents a holistic spa
experience that combines therapies, cuisine,
daily consultations and lifestyle activities.
The Spa Retreat has been developed based
on the Western philosophy of four traditional
elements of earth, air, fire and water – each
having its own characteristics that promote
well-being. The Mandhoo restaurant within
the spa facility serves spa cuisine, which
is healthy as well as flavourful. The food
is prepared with ingredients sourced from
organic or biodynamic producers.
Guests can also opt for a wide choice
of restaurants and over-water spa at the
Rangali Island.
Special offer to commemorate the opening
of The Spa Retreat – Guests booking
before 30 September 2005 could stay 4 Nights
for the price of 3 Nights in a Spa Water
Villa and enjoy a 10% discount of additional
nights in any villa category. This offer
is valid for reservations made for stays
till 31 October and can be booked directly
through the resort.
Beach Villas
Scattered around the tropical gardens of
Rangalifinolhu Island, the 79 stylishly
designed villas have a stunning beachfront,
located just steps away from the powder-white
beach. Forty-five of them have private
pools. Up to 300sqm of the elegant indoor/outdoor
living space is arranged around a courtyard
with a cascading fountain. Enormous glass
doors substitute walls that open up to
a lush tropical garden. One of the key
highlights is the large outdoor bathroom
with a thatched-roof bathing pavilion
that offers a spectacular view of the
ocean. The outdoor shower nestles comfortably
under the shade of banana and frangipani
trees. Special Offer for the Beach and
Deluxe Beach Villas: 1 September to 31
October 2005: book 7 Nights for the price
of 5 Nights; or 14 Nights for the price
of 10 Nights.
Undersea Restaurant
The seven restaurants and three bars set
the resort up to be a gourmet’s
paradise, offering an outstanding choice
in out-of-the-world settings: by the
water, over the water and uniquely, under
the sea at the world’s first aquarium-styled
restaurant. Called “Ithaa” or
pearl in the local Dhivehi language,
the restaurant is five metres below the
ocean waves, with a 180-degree underwater
view and surrounded by a vibrant coral
reef. Special Offer: Innovative contemporary
Maldivian dinner for two will cost US$200
per couple including a champagne cocktail.
