Altamer was the site of Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston's infamous break-up vacation. But if they had to break up, at least they did it in style. The resort has three villas: the Russian Amethyst, the Brazilian Emerald and the African Sapphire. Altamer prides itself on an 80% guest return rate, and repeat celebrity business keeps them going strong. Celebrities, in turn, love Altamer for its privacy. Stays must be purchased in weekly blocks, and there is a 14-night minimum stay from Dec. 17 through Jan. 7, when the most affordable villa, Russian Amethyst, goes for $65,000 a week (or $9,285 per night).
