3rd Hotel Asia Exhibition opens in Maldives

MALE, Aug 9 (HNS) -- The 3rd Hotel Asia Exhibition organized by Maldives Exhibition and Conference Services in association with Sri Lanka Exhibition and Conference Services began on Monday at Dharubaaruge in Male.

Sponsored by Maldives telecoms company Dhiraagu, the exhibition is aimed at creating an opportunity to examine the services provided by hospitality industry. It is participated by more than 68 international companies.

The exhibition was officially inaugurated by Tourism Minister Hassan Sobir.

Director of MECS Mohamed Ajmal said that they have been holding the fair once every two years. He further said that the support for the fair is increasing at a surprising rate ever since they began holding the Hotel Asia Exhibitions.

Ajmal said that this year they have planned to carry out more activities in order to make the fair more attractive.

“A culinary challenge, a mock tail and an industrial seminar are planned for this year,” said Ajmal.

He said that they continue to receive full cooperation from the resorts for this exhibition.

Leisha Lawrence, manager of sales and administration of Nidro Supply Pvt Ltd, said that the exhibition is beneficial in many aspects such as exposition of their products. She said that they get new buyers for their products as a result of the fair.

The exhibition will be open for three days and is open for general public.
