Club Med to acquire another resort in the Maldives

The French vacation group Club Mediterranee said Tuesday it hoped for 20-30 percent revenue growth in Asia this year after a bumpy 2003. The group is planning to expand in Asia region to tap the flourishing tourism market.

Club Med already operates two resorts in the Maldives is to open a new resort this year bring their total resorts in the Maldives to three. According to its Asia Pacific president and chief executive Joel Tiphonnet the group is eyeing new finds in Vietnam, India, China and Sri Lanka.

Club Med has two resorts each in Indonesia, Japan, and Maldives and one each in Australia, Thailand, Malaysia and Tahiti bring the total resorts operated in this region to ten.
